Summary (cr: goodreads)
A marriage in name only...
To save her family home, impulsive bookstore owner, Alexa Maria McKenzie, casts a love spell. But she never planned on conjuring up her best friend's older brother—the powerful man who once shattered her heart.
Billionaire Nicholas Ryan doesn’t believe in marriage, but in order to inherit his father’s corporation, he needs a wife and needs one fast. When he discovers his sister’s childhood friend is in dire financial straits, he offers Alexa a bold proposition.
A marriage in name only with certain rules: avoid entanglement. Keep things all business. Do not fall in love. The arrangement is only for a year so the rules shouldn’t be that hard to follow, right?
Except fate has a way of upsetting the best-laid plans…
My Review: (also in goodreads)
I have read my fair share of novels whose plot revolves around being thrown in a relationship just because it benefits the both of them and this one is no exception. Aside from the fact that the cover sparked my curiosity..well. Back to the review, got lost a bit there, Alexa was looking for someone she could depend on particularly someone who has a lot of money. Someone who could help her save their family house. Crazy as it seems, she did the whole prayer ritual to the Earth Mother based on a book of spells she has and waited. But her best friend Maggie set her up with her brother Nick knowing that he too needed somebody to get his company. All in all, the story was a bit amusing with some hot scenes (hence, the cover) and their path to true love.
Till the next read...
